Rumpelstiltskin

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who lived with her poor father in a small village. Her father was a humble baker and very proud of his only daughter. In his desire to boast, he told the king that his daughter had the magical ability to spin straw into gold. When the king heard this, he became extremely greedy and curious. Without delay, he commanded that the girl be brought to the castle and ordered her to turn all the straw in the royal barn into gold before sunrise, threatening that she would be executed if she failed.

The girl was terrified because she had no idea how to perform such magic. Sitting among the piles of straw, crying in despair, a mysterious little man suddenly appeared before her. He asked if she was willing to give him something in exchange for his help. In her panic, she agreed to give him anything of value. The little man immediately spun the straw into gold, saving her from certain death, and vanished once the task was completed.

The greedy king was still not satisfied and tested her again with even larger piles of straw over the next two nights. Each time, Rumpelstiltskin appeared and helped her spin the straw into gold, but this time he demanded a greater price: she had to promise that her first-born child would belong to him if she became queen. Feeling trapped and with no other choice, the girl reluctantly agreed.

Eventually, the king married her, and she became queen. Time passed, and she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. When Rumpelstiltskin returned to claim his reward, the queen was terrified and pleaded for another chance to keep her child. The little man proposed a challenge: “If you can guess my name within three days, the child will remain yours. If not, I will take him.” The queen searched far and wide, asking villagers for every unusual name they knew, but she remained uncertain.

On the third day, a messenger brought news that the little man was dancing and singing outside the forest, boasting that his name was Rumpelstiltskin. The queen immediately realized this was the answer. When he appeared for the final time, she confidently declared, “Your name is Rumpelstiltskin!” Enraged, the little man stomped his feet, shouted in fury, and disappeared forever, never to be seen again.

The queen and her son lived happily and safely, and the story concludes with a strong lesson about intelligence, courage, and cleverness in facing challenges. It also emphasizes that greed and deceit ultimately lead to consequences, teaching the importance of honesty and wisdom.
