The Three Little Pigs

Long ago, a mother pig gave birth to three little pigs. They grew quickly because they loved to eat, and when they were old enough, their mother told them it was time to leave home and build houses of their own. She reminded them to be careful and warned them to avoid the wolf because he would try to catch and eat them.
The Three Little Pigs
The first pig met a farmer carrying a bundle of straw. The pig happily asked for it and quickly built a straw house. He proudly said he was safe now because the wolf would never catch him. The second pig wanted something stronger, so when he met a woodcutter carrying sticks, he asked for them and built a sturdier house. He felt confident that no wolf could break through his wooden walls. The youngest pig continued walking until he found a bricklayer with a cart full of bricks. He asked for some and spent a long time building a solid brick house. When he was done, he said that the wolf would never be able to harm him.

The next day, the wolf arrived at the straw house. The first pig saw him and ran inside. The wolf knocked on the door and demanded to be let in. The pig refused, which angered the wolf. He huffed and puffed until the straw house collapsed, and the wolf quickly ate the first pig. The wolf continued down the road and found the wooden house. The second pig also refused to open the door. The wolf blew the house down and ate him just as easily.

The wolf then arrived at the brick house. The youngest pig shut the door and refused to let him in. The wolf tried to blow the house down, but the bricks held firm. Realizing he could not destroy the house, the wolf pretended to be friendly and invited the pig to gather turnips with him the next morning. But the clever young pig went an hour early, collected a full basket, and returned home safely. When the wolf arrived, the pig told him he had already gone and was preparing dinner. The wolf grew frustrated but continued pretending to be kind.

He invited the pig to pick apples the next morning. Again, the pig went early, but this time the wolf appeared at the orchard. The pig stayed calm and threw the wolf an apple, sending him far down the hill to chase it. The pig escaped and hurried back home. The wolf then invited him to the fair, but the pig went early again. When he saw the wolf coming up the hill, he hid inside a large butter churn. The churn rolled downhill, knocked the wolf over, and terrified him. The pig returned home laughing.

The next day, the wolf came to the brick house and complained about the big object that had rolled into him. The pig admitted it was him in the butter churn. The wolf became furious and swore he would eat the pig no matter what. He climbed onto the roof and tried to enter through the chimney. Meanwhile, the pig boiled a big pot of water. As soon as the wolf slid down the chimney, he fell straight into the boiling pot, ending his plan forever. The youngest pig had outsmarted him completely and lived safely in his strong brick house.
