Deep in the forest lived a fierce and cruel tiger. Every animal feared him, and he believed himself to be untouchable. One day, as the tiger passed by the cave of Purple Toad, the toad decided it was time to teach the arrogant tiger a lesson using intelligence instead of strength.
Purple Toad shouted boldly, claiming the land as his own and warning anyone who passed by. The tiger laughed, declaring himself king of the jungle and afraid of no one. Calmly, the toad introduced himself as Purple Toad, the uncle of Heaven, speaking with absolute confidence. When the tiger mocked his tiny size, the toad replied that strength alone was nothing and cleverness was a talent too.
To prove his superiority, the tiger challenged Purple Toad to a jumping contest across a stream. The toad agreed but claimed he could stand farther back and still jump farther than the tiger. The tiger accepted without suspicion. As the tiger prepared to leap and swung his tail for momentum, Purple Toad secretly bit onto the tiger’s tail. When the tiger jumped and whipped his tail, the toad was flung far ahead, winning the contest. The tiger had no choice but to admit defeat.
Purple Toad went further, boasting that he could even capture and eat a tiger, opening his mouth to reveal tiger fur stuck inside. Terrified, the tiger ran away in panic. On his escape, he met a monkey who laughed at his fear and claimed Purple Toad was harmless. To prove it, the monkey tied himself to the tiger’s back so they could confront the toad together.
When they reached the cave again, Purple Toad reacted instantly with wit. He shouted that the monkey still owed him ten tigers and had only brought one. Hearing this, the tiger believed he had been betrayed. In blind fear, he ran wildly through the forest. The monkey, tied tightly, was slammed into trees and died instantly.
Exhausted, the tiger finally stopped to rest. Seeing the monkey’s teeth exposed, the tiger angrily scolded him, thinking the monkey was laughing at his stupidity. Once again, Purple Toad’s clever mind defeated brute strength, proving that intelligence and quick thinking can overcome even the most powerful enemy.
